Weddings

This is where two people declare their love for each other publicly and before witnesses.  It is both the culmination of some time in ‘getting to know each other’ and the beginning of another important chapter in each of the couple’s life.

Not a decision taken into lightly and one that has personal,  public and legal consequences.

For a marriage to last it must be meaningful and it must have love at its core. Having said that, love grows providing we nurture it.

When preparing for a marriage ceremony there are legal papers that are required and they include:

• Birth Certificate or Passport (Australian or Overseas)
• Current Drivers Licence or eqivalent Identity Card
• Decree Absolute (if a divorcee)
• Death Certificate (if widowed)

Memorials or Funerals

I have conducted over 350 funerals for several funeral homes in Sydney.

I make an effort to know as much about the individual as possible in order to tailor a ceremony to that particular individual.  As that beautiful treatise called ‘Desiderata’ says “Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.” 

Funerals used to be a very morbid and dreary affair once upon a time,  now they are what they should have always been,  a celebration of that person’s life.  Hence ceremonies these days incorporate music,  pictures and DVD’s to tell that person’s story.

Throughout the industry I’ve become known as the ‘funeral Whisperer’ because of my ability to bring people together,  even estranged siblings who have missed opportunities to dialogue.

Renewal Of Vows Ceremony

There are times when a married couple wants to express and renew their love to each other. It could be for an anniversary such as a 25th or 50th. A renewal of marriage vows is the manifestation of such an expression.

Other reasons may be that their first wedding didn’t go as planned or some family visitors could not attend the wedding and therefore a renewal is held at a later date to celebrate the wedding.

For whatever reason Renewal Ceremonies are meaningful and full of warm and memorable feelings.
